Scope of Work:
It’s December in Beaver Creek, Colorado. As the sun crests the Gore Range on a bluebird morning, millions of viewers worldwide are tuning in to watch America’s most exciting ski racing event, the Birds of Prey men’s FIS World Cup Downhill. Bulletproof ice, 50-degree slopes, and speeds in excess of 75 miles per hour are the norm and skiing’s elite handle it with grace and a level of athleticism that is unparalleled.
Each year the Vail Valley Foundation plans and prepares every precise detail of this grand spectacle and Milhoan Design was fortunate enough to create the poster for the main event! Vail and Beaver Creek is The Hinterland for Milhoan Design. It’s where ski racing was ingrained into our spirit at age 2 and where many mock-downhill races took place long after the lifts stopped spinning. This project was definitely outside of the design wheelhouse but we feel the end result is stunning. Enjoy!
